Artist Bio

Tarin Porter is an artist from Perth that specialises in oil paintings of interior spaces that often involve disorienting spatial situations. During her undergraduate studies, she was an exchange student in both Canada and Singapore and in 2020 she completed her Honours degree in Melbourne, finding innovative ways to work whilst in lockdown. She is influenced by collage in her production of altered spaces and the vibrant palettes of artists from the New Leipzig School inspire her bold colour schemes. Her works often explore connections between personal anxieties and broader anxiety producing systems that result in social disconnection, polarisation and precarity.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) from Curtin University in 2019 and received a First Class Honours degree in Fine Arts from RMIT University in 2020.
